Full-Time Legislative Aide

Overview:
The Office of State Representative Dennis Paul is seeking a full-time Legislative Aide for the 89th Legislative Session. This position provides a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in Texas state government, contributing directly to the legislative and constituent services of Representative Paul’s office.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth legislative research and prepare documentation for bills and hearings
  • Support the drafting and analysis of potential legislation
  • Engage with constituents, address concerns, and manage correspondence
  • Coordinate and maintain Representative Paul’s calendar, including scheduling meetings and legislative engagements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in political science, public policy, communications, or related fields
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Keen interest in Texas government and legislative operations
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
