Texas State Representative

Texas State Representative James Frank is seeking a Legislative Aide to work in his Capitol Office for the 89th Legislative Session. The Legislative Aide will help with all functions of the office. The ideal candidate will have a passion for public policy and substantial experience working in a legislative or policy role. Salary will be commensurate with experience and ability.

Responsibilities

• Assist in creating Rep. Frank’s floor report by analyzing bills and assembling the report.
• Assist in preparing Rep. Frank for committee hearings as needed, by analyzing bills and assembling his binder.
• Take meetings on assigned policy areas.
• Conduct policy research as assigned and at discretion.
• Develop constituent communications, such as response letters and social media posts.
• Perform constituent services, such as answering the phones and answering constituents’ questions.
• Managing Rep. Frank’s schedule and meeting requests.

Qualifications

• Experience working in politics, whether that be in a legislative office, doing public policy research, in government, or campaigns.
• Ability to handle a multitude of time-sensitive projects and tasks at once.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to analyze complex topics and summarize them succinctly.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Motivated by a strong affinity for public policy work.
