Digital Archivist II

SUMMARY: Performs archival work which includes organization and maintenance of digital photos and photographic slides. Coordinates the collection, organization, analysis, and preservation of records. Performs administrative office duties including file maintenance, answering/routing phone calls, and managing office supplies. All work performed under the direct supervision of the House Digital Media Department manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

• Serves as the first point of contact for House members, state agencies, and the general public, routing calls and requests to the appropriate staff.
• Receives and responds to requests from House members, state agencies, and the general public.
• Responds to inquiries of the Digital Media Department.
• Assists with access to, professional care, daily management, and maintenance of the House’s photographic archive.
• Prepares photography order requests.
• Prepares billing for requests from House members, committees, agencies, and the general public.
• Gathers archival material for walk-in clients upon request.
• Assists House photographers in verifying tagging of metadata.
• Ensures consistent filing and labeling.
• Schedules photography assignments in Outlook calendar.
• Performs other related work as assigned.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Experience in archival work and responding to the public regarding requests preferred. Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with course work in history, government, library science, or a related field is generally preferred. Education and experience may be substituted one for another.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Knowledge of professional archival methods, practices, procedures, and standards of records management issues and practices. General knowledge of state government policies and procedures preferred. Applicant must also be able to communicate effectively and professionally with members, staff and the general public. Skill in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite is required. Skill in the use of computer, applicable software, and desktop applications. Must be able to work in fast-paced environment. Must be able to meet strict deadlines. Must have flexibility to work extended hours and weekends as required. Must adhere to department dress code and demonstrate the ability to follow all policies and procedures as set forth in the Personnel Manual of Policies & Procedures. Work attendance to be performed on-site.

GENERAL SALARY INFORMATION:

SALARY RANGE: State Salary Group B-18. Salary will be determined by experience and qualifications.
