PROJECT MANAGER III

SUMMARY: Performs complex project management work, with a focus on supporting complex broadcast, network, and Audio/Visual(AV) systems. Work involves coordinating the planning and initiation of projects at various levels of completion; monitoring the progress and schedule of projects; and communicating with project stakeholders, management, and other relevant parties. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: 

  • Coordinates, plans, and evaluates projects using accepted project management methodologies.
  • Monitors and manages project cost to ensure that the project is completed within budget.
  • Monitors and manages team workload, technical standards, and project quality to ensure that project deliverables are acceptable and fulfill the terms of the project contract or specifications.
  • Troubleshoots complex system issues and communicates problems and solutions to senior leadership.
  • Plans and manages efficient project meetings.
  • Leads technical review of proposals and system designs.
  • Stays current with industry changes through training and professional development.
  •  Performs related work as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Experience in engineering and project management in relevant areas of project assignment is required. Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in a field relevant to the assignment is generally preferred. Experience and education may be substituted for one another.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Knowledge of project management theories and practices applicable to limited-scope projects; systems and procedures used to evaluate a third-party vendor’s performance; and local, state, and federal laws and regulations relevant to the administration of the project undertaken. Ability to multitask and demonstrate strong attention to detail. Capability to be positive and personable with strong interpersonal skills. Ability to demonstrate teamwork, dependability, adaptability, and critical thinking skills. General knowledge of state government policies and procedures preferred. Applicant must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with House members, employees, and the public. Must be able to meet strict deadlines. Must have flexibility to work extended hours and weekends as required. Must adhere to departmental dress code and demonstrate the ability to follow all policies and procedures as set forth in the House Personnel Manual of Policies and Procedures

GENERAL SALARY INFORMATION:

SALARY RANGE: State salary group B24. Salary will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
