Rep. Zwiener, Erin
Biography
Erin Zwiener is an author, conservationist, and lawyer who is currently serving her fourth term in the Texas House of Representatives. She's committed to fighting for our Texas values of healthy communities, inclusivity, and common-sense government.
Rep. Zwiener serves as the Vice-Chair of the House Committee on Intergovernmental Affairs. She is also a member of the Committee on Natural Resources, Local & Consent Calendars, and the Permanent Standing Subcommittee on County and Regional Government.
She is the only member of the Texas House with a background in environmental conservation, and in January of 2021, she founded the Texas Energy and Climate Caucus and currently serves as its Chair. She also serves as a deputy whip for the Texas Democratic Caucus and the treasurer for the Texas LGBTQ Caucus, in addition to being a member of the Criminal Justice Reform Caucus, Women’s Health Caucus, Texas Water Caucus, and IT Caucus.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Conservation, a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing, a Juris Doctorate from the University of Texas at Austin, and is a three-time Jeopardy! champion. She lives in Driftwood with her husband Quincy, daughter Lark, a dog, three horses, a pony, a pig, and too many chickens.
