Biography

Heriberto “Eddie” Morales, Jr. is a lifelong product of Eagle Pass, Texas. He is currently serving his first term as State Representative for District 74.

Representative Morales attended Eagle Pass High School and after graduating, decided to pursue a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin. Upon graduating with his bachelor’s in Political Science and a double minor in Business and Spanish in 1997, he attended St. Mary’s University School of Law and graduated with his Juris Doctor in 2000. That same year he passed the State Bar exam and decided to return home to Eagle Pass to begin his career.

In addition to serving as State Representative, Morales is also a partner and member of the management board at Langley and Banack, Inc., Attorneys at Law. He currently supervises their satellite office in Eagle Pass.

He currently serves as the President of the Maverick County Bar Association and sits on the St. Mary's Law Alumni Association as a Board Member. Aside from the Representative's aforementioned responsibilities, he is an avid real estate investor, as well as a commercial and residential builder. Representative Morales also serves as the City Attorney for Eagle Pass and Brackettville. Prior to serving in office, he decided to buy his parents tortilla factory. The Piedras Negras Tortilla Factory is a staple of the Eagle Pass food culture, which has been loved for generations, and recently celebrated their 33rd anniversary of being in business.

Representative Eddie Morales, Jr. has years of experience that will undoubtedly assist him throughout his appointment to public office. He is devoted to making sure that the district he represents receives their fair share of state resources. As he has spent time within the district, he has witnessed firsthand the need for transportation resources in rural communities. During his first term in office Representative Morales is determined to prioritize transportation within his district at the state level. He plans to focus on school safety, education opportunities, job creation, and healthcare reform.

The Representative is proud of his achievements, but more importantly, he is proud of his three children: Kassandra and Alexandra who are public educators in Texas, and his son Eddie, who is attending the University of Texas at Austin majoring in Government. Representative Morales resides in Eagle Pass with his wife, Hellen.
