Multimedia Specialist II

SUMMARY

Performs advanced, broadcast ready video/audio duties related to the creation of various broadcast quality productions for broadcast television and the World Wide Web. All work performed under the direct supervision of the House Video/Audio Department manager. 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Trains session only employees in all matters of committee and chamber duties required during each legislative session. 
  • Directs any required broadcast/live stream of House committees. 
  • Creates video and audio productions, using computer-assisted video, audio, webcasting, lighting and special effects equipment. 
  • Provides production assistance to other producers and projects; and performing related assignments. 
  • Transfers files onto tapes for archiving purposes. 
  • Works directly with vendors and video/audio staff to replace and/or repair broadcast equipment. 
  • Communicates and work directly with Web Administrator on all maters related to maintaining web site. 
  • Provides technical knowledge of Video/Audio Department equipment to other members of the video/audio team. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Graduation from high school or equivalent. Graduation from an accredited college or University with major course work in television/film, journalism or related field is generally preferred. Education and experience may be substituted one for another. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Must be proficient in on-site audio/video equipment, and provide trouble-shooting audio/video solutions to clients as needed. Must have the ability to work with agency Web Administrator in design, development and maintenance of computer applications. General knowledge of state government policies and procedures preferred, but not required. Applicant must also be able to communicate and work effectively and professionally with members, staff and the general public. Skill in the use of computer, applicable software and desktop applications. Must be able to work in fast-paced and rapidly changing environment. Must be able to meet strict deadlines. Must have flexibility to work extended hours and weekends as required. Must adhere to department dress code and demonstrate the ability to follow all policies and procedures as set forth in the House Personnel Manual of Policies and Procedures

GENERAL SALARY INFORMATION:

SALARY RANGE: State Salary Group B22. Salary will be determined by experience and qualifications.
