Zwiener Sworn in as State Representative for House District 45

State Representative Erin Zwiener of Driftwood was sworn in today to serve House District 45.

Zwiener took the oath along with her colleagues in the House Chamber of the Texas House during a formal swearing-in ceremony. Zwiener swore her oath of office on a reproduction of the Texas Journals of the Convention, a collection of the deliberations leading to annexation and the drafting of the Texas Constitution. The book concludes with the original State of Texas Constitution and belonged to her late grandfather, attorney and longtime Texas public servant Lonny Zwiener.

“The founders of the State of Texas spent almost two months carefully crafting our constitution,” said Zwiener. “I intend to approach my work at the Capitol with the same seriousness and dedication that they approached theirs.”
Zwiener was joined for the swearing-in by her husband Quincy, her six-month-old daughter Lark, her parents Jeff and Carol, and her 91-year-old grandmother Ardith.

“For the past two years I worked to win this seat,” said Zwiener. “This is the end of that chapter. Today we start work on the next chapter, serving all the people of Hays and Blanco Counties and fighting for great public education and affordable health care.”
