REP. MARY E. GONZÁLEZ FILES BILL REQUESTING STUDY TO IDENTIFY AREAS OF THE STATE LACKING NATURAL GAS UTILITIES
Austin, TX - Today Representative Mary E. González filed House Bill 1125 which calls for a comprehensive study that would identify areas lacking natural gas services, determine why gas has not yet been extended, and estimate the cost of expanding service to these areas.
“This bill aligns with our efforts to get natural gas utility services extended to Tornillo resi-dents,” explained Representative González, “and also allows us to be strategic in implementing infrastructure that is critical for supporting the enhanced economic development of the area.”
The study, which would be carried out by the Texas Railroad Commission, would also describe possible strategies for extending natural gas utility service throughout the entire state.
