Representative Jeff Leach Issues Statement Regarding Local Response to COVID-19  print page

by: Rep. Leach, Jeff

ALLEN Today, following announcements from local educational leaders regarding the temporary extension of Spring Break among certain public school campuses and colleges throughout Collin County, Representative Jeff Leach issued the following statement:

"Over the past several days, I have been deliberating and working actively with our federal, state and local leaders regarding our collective response to COVID-19. I am so proud of the way officials at all levels have come together to address this emergency. Based on our collective work and conversations in recent days, I fully and wholeheartedly support the leadership of Plano ISD and Allen ISD in their decisions to extend spring break for an additional week. This decision is well-informed and thoughtfully considered and is, without question, the right and wise decision to ensure the health and safety of our public school children, their families and the educators and staff who serve them.

I am committed to continuing to work aggressively to appropriately respond to this crisis. I will be communicating on a daily basis with federal, state and local officials and will, of course, keep my constituents informed with updates as helpful and necessary. I remain optimistic and confident that, working together, we will get through this.
Below is a list of Spring Break extensions in House District 67. Note - all extensions are subject to change based on ongoing developments related to the containment of COVID-19.
