Richardson, TX – State Representative Ana-Maria Ramos of House District 102 is pleased to announce she is seeking to nominate a graduating high school senior for a minimum of $4,000 - maximum of $10,000 Texas Armed Services Scholarship (TASSP).

"I am a firm believer that education accelerates the growth not only of an individual but also of the community," said Rep. Ana-Maria Ramos. "I am honored to help a qualified student achieve their dreams of acquiring an education, and I am proud to support someone who wishes to serve their country in the U.S. Armed Services."

Nominations for the 2019-2020 Texas Armed Services Scholarship Program (TASSP) have opened for next year’s class (fall 2019/spring 2020 academic year). This scholarship supports students who choose to participate in a college ROTC program and commit to serve in our armed forces.

In order to be considered for a TASSP, a student enrolling in higher education straight from high school must meet two of the following four academic criteria at the time of application:

• Be on track to graduate, or has graduated high school with the Distinguished Achievement Program (DAP) or the International Baccalaureate Program (IB);

• Have a high school GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale;

• Achieve a college readiness score on the SAT (1070) or ACT (23);

• Be ranked in the top one-third of the prospective high school graduating class.

Students must be enrolled in a college or university in the fall 2019/spring 2020 academic year in order to be nominated for a TASSP during the current nomination cycle.
