Community Members Are Encouraged to Attend and Share Their Experiences
AUSTIN - Rep. Lucio today announced that he will be participating in an August 2nd Listening Session on women's health issues.
The session, free and open to the public, will serve as the McAllen-area stop of a statewide, seven-city Women's Health Tour hosted by members of the Texas House of Representatives. Following a brief overview of legislative actions on the topics of family planning and women's health, Rep. Lucio will ask community members to share their thoughts, concerns, and experiences related to the subject matter. He released the following statement:
"Women's health issues have been at the center of state politics since Senator Davis' filibuster last year. As we approach our next legislative session in January, women's health issues are already making their way into state offices, and the response for these issues are growing exponentially. This public forum will allow for an open and thorough conversation about the issues that many Texas women face each and every day with concerned legislators."
"I am looking forward to this event and I encourage everyone - man or woman, to join us for an afternoon of important discussion and cooperation. Together, we'll ensure that the public’s voice is heard and that women's health issues continue to resonate throughout the state."
