Texas State Representative

The Office of State Representative Lacey Hull is seeking a full-time legislative director for the Capitol office for the 90th legislative session. The ideal candidate has experience working two regular sessions at the legislature and a deep interest in public policy. This position begins in fall of 2026 and continues through August 2027, with the possibility of permanent extension. Salary is commensurate with experience. 

Job Responsibilities

• Assist with the development of the Representative’s legislative initiatives
• Serve as lead staff member to shepherd bills through the legislative process
• Analyze bills and assist with preparing the daily legislative calendar
• Represent the office and Representative to stakeholders and constituents
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Exemplary verbal and written communication skills and overall professionalism
• A thorough understanding of, and experience working with the Texas legislative process
• The ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and balance ongoing assignments
• A detail-oriented work ethic with adherence to strict deadlines
• Team-oriented mentality with the ability to take initiative on independent assignments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working for or at the legislature for two regular sessions
• Experience with public policy that aligns with the Representative’s legislative initiatives
