Legislative Internship Position
State Representative Carl H. Tepper seeks a Legislative Intern in his Capitol Office in Austin for the remainder of the 89th Regular Session. This position includes legislative research, policy analysis, constituent correspondence, and various administrative tasks that contribute to the overall success of the office. An ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, adept writing abilities, and an eagerness to learn about the inner workings of the Texas Legislature. Previous knowledge of state government is beneficial but not required.
Responsibilities
- Answering phone calls and welcoming visitors.
- Managing legislative and constituent databases.
- Drafting communications, such as press releases, newsletters, social media posts, and constituent correspondence.
- Performing administrative tasks and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to handle many time-sensitive projects and tasks at once.
- Excellent writing, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to analyze complex topics and summarize them succinctly.
Compensation
Interns will receive a stipend commensurate with experience and availability.
