LEGISLATIVE INTERN - CAPITOL
Position Description: Responsible for assisting with the daily affairs of the Capitol office, correspondence, meetings, addressing and resolving constituent matters, and various state-related duties. The Legislative Intern is subject to supervision by the Chief of Staff and Representative, and is expected be professional and courteous when acting on behalf of or representing the office and Member.
Primary Location: Capitol office, Austin, TX.
Salary: Paid and unpaid positions available.
Responsibilities:
- Answering and responding to constituent correspondence.
- Various administrative duties, including but not limited to: answering telephone calls, handling mail, drafting emails, etc.
- Represent the office at events, meetings, and other state-related matters in, near or around the Capitol.
- Policy and legislative research.
- Drafting various policy, legislative, state, and office related documents.
Any other state-related matter assigned by the Representative or Chief of Staff.
