Texas State Representative

The Capitol Office of State Representative Shelby Slawson is seeking a responsible, motivated, and experienced individual for the position of Legislative Director. The position is available immediately. Qualified candidates should expect to work full-time hours during the interim and extended hours as needed during session.

Duties

Legislative research
Drafting and advancing legislation through the legislative process
Constituent correspondence/casework
Attend briefings and other informative events on behalf of the member
Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Ability to communicate effectively and professionally
Strong organizational and time management skills
Knowledge of the legislative process
Advanced writing abilities

Experience

One legislative session preferred

Compensation

This is a paid position with full health and vacation benefits.
