State Representative J.D. Sheffield, DO, Appoints James Parker as New Chief of Staff
Austin, TX – April 7, 2020 – James Parker has been appointed Chief of Staff to Texas State Representative J.D. Sheffield, effective immediately. He succeeds Amanda Tollett, who now serves as Chief of Staff to Tarleton State University President James L. Hurley and as Vice President for University Relations.
“During his time with us, James has proven himself highly capable and motivated,” said Dr. Sheffield. “We are lucky to have him.”
Parker joined the Austin office in December of 2018, served as Legislative Assistant during the 86th Legislative Session, and quickly distinguished himself as a diligent team member. A fifth generation native of Comanche County, Parker has strong roots in Texas House District 59 and a passion for rural issues.
Parker holds a Bachelor of Science in geophysics from Texas Tech University.
Dr. J.D. Sheffield is a family practice physician first elected to the Texas Legislature in 2012. Texas House District 59 is comprised of eight counties: Comanche, Coryell, Erath, Hamilton, McCulloch, Mills, San Saba, and Somervell.
