Representative Erin Zwiener Named MVP of Texas House Football Game
Austin, TX -- After sacking former National Champion Vince Young and returning an interception for a touchdown, State Representative Erin Zwiener was named MVP of the 2019 Texas House flag football game. The game was held at Texas A&M’s Kyle Field where freshman legislators took on their senior colleagues.
“I played defensive end on my school team in middle school, but I never thought I’d have the opportunity to use those skills in the Texas Legislature,” said Rep Zwiener. “The game was a great opportunity to bond with my colleagues and build relationships that will help us work as a team as we work through the tough issues facing Texans. I am proud of my fellow freshmen and so honored to be named MVP.”
Chancellor John Sharp awarded Representative Zwiener a Texas A&M helmet for her performance, but she remains steadfastly loyal to House District 45’s own Texas State University. The senior team won the game 50-35. The game was privately funded, and no state funds were expended.
