State Representative Ernest Bailes Receives House Committee Assignments for the 86th Legislative Session
AUSTIN, TX - State Representative Ernest Bailes received his committee assignments for the 86th Legislative Session. Representative Bailes was appointed to serve on the House Committee on Energy Resources and the House Committee on Corrections.
The House Committee on Energy Resources focuses on our state's energy resources, production and transportation of oil and gas, and works closely with the Railroad Commission of Texas.
The House Committee on Corrections oversees the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, the Board of Pardons and Paroles, and the Special Prosecution Unit.
"As pipelines move through all three of the counties I represent, serving on the Energy Resources Committee will ensure that HD 18 will be part of the conversation and will produce a positive impact throughout our district," said Representative Bailes.
House District 18 encompasses the largest concentration of correctional facilities in the state with a total of 11 TDCJ prison units. "The legislation that will come forward in this committee will truly impact the folks back home, and I cannot think of a better way to represent my constituents."
State Representative Ernest Bailes is serving his second term in the Texas House of Representatives, encompassing Liberty, San Jacinto, and Walker counties.
"I look forward to working with my fellow committee members on behalf of House District 18. My priority will be to ensure not only my three counties, but the entire state of Texas is best represented."
