State Representative Sheryl Cole Appointed to Ways and Means, Redistricting, and County Affairs Committees
AUSTIN, January 24, 2019 - State Representative Sheryl Cole has been appointed to serve on the House Ways and Means, Redistricting, and County Affairs Committees for the 86th Legislature.
· Ways and Means oversees proposals to raise state revenue, the levying of taxes, and resolutions to permit local governments to raise revenue.
· Redistricting oversees the drawing of legislative districts for both the Texas House and Senate, along with Congressional and judicial districts.
· County Affairs has jurisdiction over the creation and oversight of county and local matters.
Rep. Cole had the following to say: "I'm excited to serve the state of Texas on the Ways and Means, Redistricting, and County Affairs committees in the 86th Legislature. These assignments present many opportunities to improve the lives of Texans in House District 46 and across the state. I would like to thank House leadership for moving quickly - as Washington is shutdown, Texas is getting to work. I am further thankful for the opportunities afforded to me as a freshman member to serve on such crucial committees."
