State Representative Victoria Neave Appointed to Serve on Committees Impacting Civil Jurisprudence and Criminal Justice Reform
Austin, TX: Today, State Representative Victoria Neave (HD-107) was re-appointed to serve on the House Committee on the Judiciary and Civil Jurisprudence which hears testimony on civil and family law, administrative law, and has jurisdiction over multiple state agencies related to the courts and judicial conduct. "I look forward to using my skills as an attorney once again to craft laws impacting civil and family laws, including access to the courts for many individuals who cannot afford an attorney," said State Representative Victoria Neave.
State Representative Victoria Neave was also appointed to the House Committee on Corrections, which covers issues related to state prisons and jails, including rehabilitation programs, programs that provide alternatives to incarceration, and oversees several state agencies related to correctional programs. State Representative Victoria Neave says, "The shackling of pregnant inmates while giving birth, menstrual equity, and addressing the school to prison pipeline and criminal justice reform are issues I look forward to tackling as a member of the House Committee on Corrections."
State Representative Victoria Neave represents Texas House District 107, which includes parts of East Dallas, Mesquite, and Garland. She was named "Freshman of the Year" by the House Democratic Caucus and one of the "5 Best Legislators in North Texas" by the Dallas Observer.
