Representative Rhetta Andrews Bowers Proudly Announces the 2019 Dallas Woman's March this Sunday, January 20th, 2019.

ROWLETT, TEXAS - State Representative Rhetta Andrews Bowers (HD 113), announces and invites all to participate in this years Dallas Women's March this Sunday, January 20th, 2019. For the past two years, our great City of Dallas has been a part of a global movement that celebrates women and this year is no different. Thanks to the phenomenal organizations helping us plan and lead the Dallas Women's March, Representative Bowers is honored and excited to chair the March again, along with Representative Victoria Neave (HD 107) and other newly elected female State Representatives from all over Dallas County.

"During the inaugural year of the Dallas Women's March, women were standing in solidarity saying, 'Enough is Enough!' We were charged to go to the front of the line and fight for our voices to be heard, so much so that a record number of women in Texas ran for office and now in the 3rd year of the Dallas Women's March we are sharing those stories and celebrating the ladies who have won and those who continue to fight."

This year, the Dallas Women's March is thrilled to be joined by five additional phenomenal women who were elected to the Texas State Legislature this most recent and historic mid-term election including, Representatives Terry Meza (HD 105), Julie Johnson (HD115), Anna Maria Ramos (HD 102), Michelle Beckley (HD 65), and Jessica Gonzalez (HD 104).

"The Dallas Women's March is committed to dismantling systems of oppression through nonviolent resistance and building inclusive structures guided by self-determination, dignity and respect. In recent years we saw many women come forward publicly to discuss, among other things, harassment in the workplace. Through sharing their experiences, they brought down predatory men who sexually abused, harassed and assaulted women. This is the goal of the Dallas Women's March, to empower women's voices and ensure we are all heard loud and clear."

Please join us again this year! Let's march in celebration of the successes we have gathered, and for those yet to come. Let's march with our daughters, sons, mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, friends and neighbors. Let's march with purpose and determination, but most importantly, let's march together!
