Rep. Travis Clardy Named DETCOG Legislator of the Year
AUSTIN - This week, State Representative Travis Clardy (Nacogdoches) was recognized with the Deep East Texas Council of Government's (DETCOG) Deep East Texas Legislator of the Year Award. The award was presented by DETCOG and the Deep East Texas County Commissioners and Judges Association.
"I am honored to be named the Legislator of the Year and to receive the award from DETCOG and the Deep East Texas Commissioners and Judges Association," said Rep. Clardy. "I am proud of what we have accomplished to support the people of East Texas and our key industries and institutions. I look forward to another session focused on improving education and promoting our conservative values while improving our region's economy."
DETCOG and the Deep East Texas Commissioners and Judges Association are comprised of counties, cities, service organizations and private businesses working together to promote the interests of the East Texas region. DETCOG spans twelve counties, and Rep. Clardy shares representation of this region with his House colleagues Trent Ashby, Ernest Bailes, Chris Paddie, James White, and State Senator Robert Nichols.
ôRep. Clardy represents our community with commitment and integrity. He is always willing to roll up his sleeves and work hard when the Deep East Texas community needs him. It is our privilege to give him this award," said Allison Harbison the Shelby County Judge and President of the Deep East Texas Judges and Commissioners Association.
Representative Clardy is currently serving his fourth term as the State Representative for House District 11, which includes Cherokee, Nacogdoches, and Rusk counties.
