Representative Shaheen Announces Application for Texas Armed Services Scholarship 2018
PLANO, Texas—Honoring service in our nation's armed forces, State Representative Matt Shaheen announced today that he is accepting applications for the Texas Armed Services Scholarship Program. The program, created by the Texas Legislature to encourage military service through Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) programs at Texas colleges is open to Texas high school students who meet a high level of academic achievement. Currently, the program can appoint 185 students from across the Lone Star State, nominated by members of the legislature.
"My office has been participating in this program for the last few years and we have been able to send some really great candidates to schools here in Texas. I look forward to reviewing applications from our district as I know the process will be very competitive."
The deadline for students to apply is July 15, and students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. Applications, eligibility criteria, and other details can be found at Representative Shaheen's member page under the "media" tab, located at:
