State Rep. Helen Giddings Responds to Thanksgiving Attack of DPS Trooper

Austin- Rep. Helen Giddings (Dallas) released the following statement on the lethal attack of DPS Trooper Damon Allen:

"On a day meant to celebrate family and unity, a Texas family has been dealt an unfathomable and brutal tragedy. Although the suspect has been apprehended, no delivery of justice will provide meaningful solace to this trooper's loved ones. Trooper Allen leaves behind a wife and three children. We mourn their loss and offer our deepest prayers to those impacted, including members of the Department of Public Safety. I offer my appreciation and admiration to the deputies in Waller County who located and arrested the suspected shooter within hours. Violence against law enforcement is an intolerable and despicable act deserving of our highest condemnations. As a family reels in pain and disbelief, let us work together to eliminate the entrenched and persisting violence in our communities. I pray that together we can find a way to end such senseless chaos."

Representative Helen Giddings proudly serves the cities of House District 109: Dallas, DeSoto, Cedar Hill, Glenn Heights, Hutchins, Lancaster, and Wilmer.
