Frullo Lands Chairmanship and Key Committee Assignments
Austin-- The landscape for the current 85th Legislative Session was revealed today as Speaker Joe Straus announced House committees and chairmanships for the 85th Legislature. Among the key players with prominent assignments is State Representative John Frullo (Lubbock).
Frullo's history of leadership on complex policy issues prompted the speaker to give him another Chairmanship. Serving in his fourth legislative session, Frullo was appointed Chairman to the Culture, Recreation, & Tourism Committee and will also sit on the Licensing & Administrative Procedures Committee.
"I am honored Speaker Straus has entrusted me to carry out these important roles. There are many pressing issues related to culture, recreation, and tourism. I look forward to getting to work," Frullo said. As Chairman of the Culture, Recreation, & Tourism Committee, Frullo will preside over all policy matters pertaining to the promotion, development, and regulation of tourism, state parks, and the cultural and historical resources of the state of Texas.
On the Licensing & Administrative Procedures Committee, Frullo will oversee legislation relating to the oversight of businesses, industries, general trades, and occupations regulated by this state. "In this session, we are tasked with shaping legislation that will impact the everyday life of millions of Texans," Frullo said. "The work done by the committees is integral to the policy-making process, and I look forward to continuing that work for the people of District 84
and the state of Texas."
