REPRESENTATIVE CECIL BELL, JR. APPOINTED VICE-CHAIR OF THE COMMITTEE ON LAND & RESOURCE MANAGEMENT BY SPEAKER STRAUS
AUSTIN – Representative Cecil Bell, Jr. was asked by Speaker Joe Straus to Vice-Chair the Land & Resource Management Committee for the House of Representatives. This committee is responsible for the management of public lands, the power of eminent domain, annexation, zoning, and other governmental regulation of land use.
The Speaker also appointed Rep. Bell to the Special Purpose Districts Committee which has oversight over the creation of any special purpose district, including a crime control and prevention district, library district, public improvement district, municipal management district, municipal development district, irrigation district, water improvement district, water control and improvement district, and river authority, or navigation district.
"I would like to thank Speaker Straus for selecting me to serve on these two committees," said Cecil Bell, Jr. "They will each present important opportunities to improve the daily lives of the citizens of District 3 and the great state of Texas."
State Representative Cecil Bell, Jr., is currently serving his third term in the Texas Legislature. District 3 encompasses Montgomery and Waller County.
