Rep. Briscoe Cain Receives Committee Assignments for 85th Legislative Session

On Thursday February 9, Texas House Speaker Joe Straus announced committee assignments, 31 days into the 140 day legislative session. Representative Cain was appointed to the Committee on Juvenile Justice and Family Issues as well as the Committee on Defense and Veterans Affairs.

In response, Representative Cain released the following statement:

“I am excited to be appointed to two committees I requested. My background in family law has given me a strong understanding of the issues facing youth in our justice system. In addition, my participation in the Texas State Guard and family history has given me a great appreciation for our veterans and I am proud to serve on both committees.”

Briscoe Cain is the State Representative for House District 128, located in Southeast Harris County. He is currently serving his first term in the Texas House of Representatives.
