Representative DeWayne Burns Praises Gov. Abbott on Drought Proclamation Renewal
AUSTIN – State Representative DeWayne Burns of Cleburne joins other state officials in support of Gov. Greg Abbott's proclamation to renew the state of disaster designation for 95 Texas counties due to exceptional drought conditions.
"This affects all of District 58 (Johnson and Bosque Counties) and I am grateful to Gov. Abbott for his continued leadership on water issues and commitment to using all available resources to help Texans who are suffering from this extended drought," Rep. Burns said.
"Although we have realized some recent precipitation, it is not near enough to resolve our ongoing issues. In spite of the lengthy drought we have experienced, our state's farmers and ranchers continue to meet the needs of our citizens. I look forward to working on these important water issues as a member of the Natural Resources Committee in the House of Representatives," he continued.
