Legislative Performance Nets Awards for Burkett

AUSTIN, TEXAS — Texas conservative organizations have now begun to make their 2013 awards based on the recent session of the Texas Legislature, and it has become clear that State Representative Cindy Burkett (Sunnyvale) will be one of this year’s top honorees. The most recent announcement is from The Texas Association of Business (TAB) which named Burkett “Champion for Free Enterprise”, their highest legislative distinction.

Burkett has also been awarded the “Courageous Conservative” award from the Texas Conservative Coalition and the "Lone Star Conservative Leader" award from the Texas Conservative Roundtable. For her Pro-life efforts, Burkett was honored by the Texas Alliance for Life, Texans for Life and Texas Right to Life.

After each legislative session, the Texas Association of Business releases a legislative scorecard. This publication focusses on legislative performance on bills and issues which impact small and large employers across Texas. Based on the TAB's pro-business rating, Representative Cindy Burkett was one of the top lawmakers on free enterprise issues.

"As a small business owner, I am honored to receive this most recent TAB award,” said Burkett. “I will continue to champion free enterprise and less regulation which are key principles to sustain job creation and keep our communities thriving.”

Cindy Burkett is serving her second term representing House District 113, which includes Balch Springs, Combine, Dallas, Garland, Mesquite, Seagoville, Sunnyvale and Rowlett.
