AUSTIN – Representative Ed Thompson announced he is accepting applications for the Texas High School Aerospace Scholars program.
“The Texas High School Aerospace Scholars program is unique interactive online course on space exploration, Earth science, technology, mathematics, and aeronautics offered through NASA,” Rep. Thompson stated. “I am excited to be able to promote this wonderful program to the young people of our community and hope that many of them will take advantage of the chance to participate.”
This program is a two-phase opportunity for nominated students. During phase one, students participate in online learning experiences that enhance skills such as critical thinking, communication, and creativity through interactive lessons on NASA activities. When the online portion of the Texas High School Aerospace Scholars (HAS) is complete, the highest achieving students will be invited to advance to the second phase of the program—a residential six-day summer experience at the Johnson Space Center.
