H.B. 1241 provides Texans with critical information about elections
AUSTIN— Today the Texas House of Representatives unanimously passed H. B. 1241 by Representative John H. Bucy III, which requires that any polling place notice include the physical street address, including the building name and suite or room number, if any. This is Rep. Bucy's first bill to be passed out of the Texas House.
In response to the House's vote for H.B. 1241, Rep. Bucy issued the below statement:
"I'm proud that my first bill, H.B. 1241, enjoys widespread, bi-partisan support because I promised to work across the aisle to improve the lives of the people of Texas," Rep. Bucy said. "H.B. 1241 makes voting information more accessible and increases ease of access to the ballot. This is especially important for younger or first-time voters, people who are new to a county and may be unsure of where to vote, and for voters who want to participate in local or down-ballot elections."
Rep. Bucy is the first freshman Democrat to have a bill passed out of the Texas House this legislative session.
