AUSTIN- —This morning, Texas House Speaker Dennis Bonnen announced committee assignments for the 86th Legislative Session. State Representative Oscar Longoria (House District 35), will serve as Vice-Chair of the Appropriations Committee for a second consecutive term, he will continue serving on the Investments & Financial Services Committee, now merged in with Pensions, and was newly appointed to the Calendars Committee.

Representative Oscar Longoria issued the following statement:

"I am honored to serve as Vice-Chair of the Appropriations Committee for a second term and I value the trust instilled in me by Speaker Bonnen. He is a strong supporter of our region and is extremely knowledgeable of the Rio Grande Valley's needs. I look forward to working closely with House Appropriations Chairman John Zerwas, Pensions, Investments & Financial Services Chairman Jim Murphy, Calendars Chairman Four Price, and my fellow committee and house colleagues to create viable solutions that will benefit our Texas families and communities.”
