Educate, Empower, and Engage the Community about the Scourge of Human Trafficking

WHAT: The North Texas Cluster of The Links Incorporated, a national service organization which includes over 300 North Texas women, has partnered with local organizations, New Friends New Life and Traffick911, as well as Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing & Visual Arts, Alex W. Spence Talented/Gifted Academy, and Lincoln Humanities/Communications Magnet School, to present a community conference on human trafficking.

WHEN: Saturday, February 24, 2018, 9:00 AM-12:00 PM. (Registration opens at 8:30 AM)

WHERE: Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, 2501 Flora Street, Dallas, 75201

State Representative Helen Giddings, Conference Chair, will deliver opening remarks and give an overview of the issues.

Speakers will include Dr. Stephany Powell, Executive Director, Journey Out, Dallas County District Attorney Faith Johnson, Dallas County Sheriff Marian Brown; Alan Schonborn, Office of the Governor; Thomas Castro, Deputy Chief of Dallas Police; Kim Grabert, Dir. of Human Trafficking & Child Exploitation at the Dept. of Family and Protective Services; and a trafficking survivor. Workshops will include "Young Men Making a Difference", "Saving Our Girls", and "Global Problem/Local Solutions".
