CARROLLTON – Representative Ron Simmons (Carrollton) today presented a resolution of congratulations to the coach and members of the Hebron Hawks girls volleyball team upon winning the state championship.
The Hebron Hawks won the last 24 games en route to a feat only one other team in UIL history has accomplished - winning three consecutive state titles. As the defending state champion, the Hawks had other teams gunning for the title and initially lost seven games as the season started. But then they started winning and never looked back, winning six of seven playoff games and defeating Katy Seven Lakes to clinch the state title. Senior outside hitter Adanna Rollins was named MVP at the state final.
"This is an outstanding achievement for these young ladies," Simmons said. “I want to take this time to show my appreciation for all the hard work of both the students and the coaching and athletic staff at Hebron High School," Simmons continued, “To have won five state championships over 14 years is an amazing testament to the high caliber of students and the coaching talent of Karin Kenney that we are so proud to have here in House District 65.”
This is the third year in a row that the Hebron Hawks have won the state championship.
