Representative Keough Receives Committee Assignments for the 85th Legislative Session named Vice Chair for the committee on International Trade & Intergovernmental Affairs
Austin TX, — Today, the Texas House of Representative Committee appointments for the 85th Legislative Session were revealed, naming Representative Mark Keough (The Woodlands) to the following committes:
• Vice Chair, International Trade & Intergovernmental Affairs
• House Committee on Human Services
"Now that committee assignments are in hand, I look forward to getting right to work for the people of my district and the citizens of Texas. Both of these committes will consider proposed legislation that will address the needs of our state and its citizens," remarked Representative Keough.
"The Human Services Committee serves a vital role in our state and our community since we are an emerging healthcare hub for the region. The committee oversees Texas' welfare and rehabilitation programs, oversight of the Health and Human Services Commision, and the Department of Family and Protective Services. Because of the growing need of healthcare in our community and with Montgomery County serving as an example of a community that values quality healthcare facilities, I am honored to serve on this committee in order to ensure our communities healthcare needs are met in the future.”
"The International Trade & Intergovernmental Affairs Committee oversees relations between the State of Texas and other nations. The committee also oversees relations between the state and the federal government involving defense, emergency preparedness, and veterans issues. Additionally, this committee addresses all matters of interational commerce and trade. I am excited to take on a new committee assignment and serve as Vice Chair. As a longtime businessman and Represenative from a district that is a huge driver of the economic engine for the state, I am honored to have the opportunity to serve in this new capacity to ensure our economy in Texas, which is the 10th largest in the world, continues making the progress it has over the last decade."
Representaitve Mark Keough represents District 15, which encompases the southern portion of Montgomery County including the cities of Shenandoah, Oak Ridge North, and The Woodlands Township.
