State Rep. White Announces TxDOT Transportation Improvement Projects in Southeast Texas

(Austin, TX) - The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has started and completed multiple transportation projects throughout Southeast Texas.

The widening of FM 356 from 2 to 4 lanes and an addition of curbs and gutters commenced in mid-November and is expected to be completed in about a year. The total cost of this project is estimated at $7,653,712.00.

In addition, the replacement of a bridge and approaches on Hwy 35N at the tributary of Long King Creek began in late November and will be completed in half a year. The estimated cost of this project stands at $812,182.78.

In addition, various projects were completed in Newton, Jasper, Hardin, and Liberty counties on a total of 37.637 miles of roadways. Jasper, additionally, saw the completion of a mill and inlay on SH 63 from the Angelina County line to 0.26 miles west of FM 2799. Lastly, numerous locations throughout the Beaumont transportation district saw surface treating, striping, and raised pavement marker projects be completed.
