Austin, TX – Speaker Joe Straus has appointed State Representative Mary Gonzalez to the Interim Committee on Border Wait Times. Border wait times present many concerns for Texas. Not only do they delay travel in border regions, but they also create barriers to local business and international economic engagement. Further, stalling travel across the border can negatively impact our environment.
“I look forward to the opportunity to represent El Paso County on the Interim Committee on Border Wait Times. International business is especially important to those in my community, and border wait times have a direct impact on our local economy. Texas must explore every opportunity for reducing wait times in order to continue to grow as an influential partner for international trade, and I am excited to be a part of this conversation.”
