LUBBOCK- In recognition of his pro-business, pro-Texas voting record during the 82nd Legislative Session, State Representative John Frullo (Lubbock) was awarded the Texas Association of Business' "Champion of Free Enterprise" Award.

This award, the highest accolade awarded by the association, honors legislators who fought during the legislative session to promote a better business climate which will ensure that more, good-paying jobs come to and stay in Texas.

"As a small business owner myself, I know the impact overbearing rules and regulations can have on job creation," Frullo said. "The state of Texas has a reputation for having a business-friendly environment, and I truly believe that in order to continue creating jobs, it is our responsibility as legislators to pass laws that give businesses the tools they need to prosper and reduce regulatory burdens that hinder their growth."

To receive this award, legislators must have been given a score of 90 percent or better by the association based on how they voted on legislation that was favorable to create and maintain a robust business environment.

“By voting for the interests of Texas’ business, Representative Frullo also supported all of the taxpayers of Texas,” said Texas Association of Business President and CEO Bill Hammond. “Without a strong business climate, Texas won’t have new jobs, the economy will stagnate and the collection of tax dollars for state and local governments and schools will fall dramatically. Representative Frullo understands that and took the steps needed to ensure Texas’ business climate stays healthy through this biennium.”
